Profile - Momiji Inoue 井上紅葉

私はバンクーバー生まれ、サンフランシスコ育ちの東京在住のアーティストです。 都会の中での生活の傍ら、自然に対する情感を創作の源泉としています。心から描きたい絵を描き続けることを使命と感じ、形や枠にとらわれない生の情感をキャンバスに映し出すことで、絵画だけでなく、自由な表現の可能性を広げたいと思っています。私の尊敬する松井守男の言葉にもあるよう、”本当に素晴らしいアートは宇宙を感じ、自然を感じることができる”という言葉が私のアートにおける信条にもなっています。

I am an artist born in Vancouver, raised in San Francisco, and living in Tokyo.
Alongside my urban life, I draw inspiration from my feelings for nature. I
cherish the everyday nature and seasonal changes that I have seen, from the
port towns of the West Coast to the dense landscapes of Tokyo, and the emotions
that arise from them.
I feel it is my mission to keep painting what I want to paint from my heart. By
reflecting raw emotions that are not bound by shapes or frames on the canvas, I
want to expand the possibilities of expression not only in painting, but also
in freedom.
I deeply resonate with the attitude of Taro Okamoto as an artist. He did not
confine himself to shapes or genres, but always pursued essential values. His
works convey a strength that makes them seem alive. I am also strongly
influenced by Morio Matsui’s works and love of nature. As he said, “Truly
wonderful art can feel the universe and nature”, which is also my creed in art.
